Germany joins forces with Lebanon to Help Geaitaoui Hospital.
The Rotary Club of Beirut Cedars (Lebanon) in collaboration with the Rotary club of Bad Homburg v.d.H. (Germany) delivered a Servo-I ventilator machine to the Lebanese Hospital Geitaoui.
The ventilator is compatible to use in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) rooms). It is the first of six various devices that the club will provide to the hospital within the framework of a global grant project of the value of 379,946$
This project aims to replace key medical equipment that was severely damaged as a result of the 4th of August 2020 Beirut port explosion, at the Pediatric, Oncology, and radiology departments where many underprivileged families receive treatment.
About Maquet Servo-I ventitalor
The Maquet Servo I ventilation system represented by Medicals International in Lebanon; can be used on a variety of patients from neonatal, pediatric, to adults. It can handle the most acute phases of respiratory distress, through recovery, and the waning phases of the ventilation process.
The Servo-i ventilator is compatible for use in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) rooms. This development is an important step forward in the continuity of care, making it possible for a patient to be connected to the same ventilator from the bed in the intensive care unit to the MRI examination and back.
The Rotary Club of Beirut Cedars is working closely with Sister Hadia Abi Chebli “the Congregation of the Maronite Sisters of the Holy Family” and Professor Pierre Yared “Former Dean of the Faculty of Medical Sciences at the Lebanese University” and currently in charge of the general management of the hospital to deliver all the equipment by the end of March 2021.
