Reusable Sanitary Pads – Distribution
Period poverty is a situation that many poor countries face and, unfortunately, it has hit Lebanon in these times, due to the increasing economic crisis the country is facing.
Thanks to a generous donation done via Rotarian Peter Labelle from Rotary Club Cornwall Sunrise, district 7040, who acquired 300 washable sanitary pads handmade under the vocational program launched by Rotary district 9141, Nigeria to teach 2000 women living in rural areas to make a living.
This donation reached Lebanon in container 14 sent by Lebanon Strong Canada, and received by Rotary Club Beirut Cedars.
In collaboration with Rotaract Beirut Cedars and local NGO Rashet Kheir, on April 27, 2022 at 3:00 pm at Mar Mikhael public park, Rotaractors and representatives of the NGO distributed these reusable pads to a number of underprivileged women.
We congratulate them for ending this month dedicated to Mother and Child with this great initiative.
