On Saturday, October 18, 2025, Rotary Club of Beirut Cedars, in collaboration with Jouzour Loubnan, planted 140 cedar trees in Faqra, contributing to Rotary’s Area of Focus: “Supporting the Environment” while also promoting October’s global theme, End Polio.
Members proudly wore their End Polio Now apparel, turning the day into a mobile awareness campaign. From breakfast before the plantation to lunch afterwards, their visible presence sparked curiosity and conversations with onlookers about Rotary’s mission to eradicate polio and protect every child worldwide.
The day began with a serene yoga session led by PP Iman Jaffal, setting a tone of mindfulness and connection with nature. Her guidance enabled participants to center their energy, breathe deeply, and align their body and spirit with the day’s purpose: service, unity, and renewal.
Beyond service, the day blossomed into a beautiful fellowship filled with laughter, joy, and heartfelt moments. Members, their families, and friends came together to share a sense of belonging, create cherished memories, and celebrate life, marking the birthdays of PP Rony Farra, PP Christine Sabieh, Rtn. Christiane Hajjar, Rtn Anne-Marie Madi, and PP Rima Khalaf, who was lovingly celebrated despite being abroad.
The event brought together Rotarians, Rotaractors, and community members, uniting environmental action with advocacy and demonstrating how service can be both impactful and joyful.
Through every tree planted and every smile shared, Rotary Beirut Cedars proved that even in planting trees, we can sow seeds of change for our planet, our community, and thrive for a polio-free world.

Rotary Club of Beirut Cedars proudly contributed to Rotary’s global mission to End Polio Now through two meaningful initiatives this October, uniting awareness, service, and compassion for lasting impact.
Following the campaign on Saturday, October 18, 2025, just one week later, on Saturday, October 25, 2025, Rotary Clubs across Lebanon collaborated with the Ministry of Public Health for a National Polio Awareness and Vaccination Campaign.
Rotary Club of Beirut Cedars took part proudly, with P. Ghassan Hajjar, PE Rifaat Jabri, PP Imane Jaffa, and PP Ramzi Abou Samah actively helping vaccinate children at the Amel Center and spreading awareness about the importance of immunization.
For over 35 years, Rotary has led the End Polio movement, reducing cases by 99.9% worldwide. Yet our mission continues until every child, everywhere, is safe from polio.
Through both planting hope and protecting health, Rotary Beirut Cedars continues to embody what Rotary stands for service, fellowship, and a shared sense of purpose.
