Interview about the humanitarian situation with Rodolphe Melki, President of the RC of Beirut Cedars

Standing together for Humanity November 2024

In times of great need, the true spirit of Rotary shines brightest. The Rotary Club of Beirut Cedars has taken an active and unwavering role in addressing one of the most pressing humanitarian crises facing Lebanon today—the plight of displaced Lebanese families. With over 1.4 million individuals, primarily women, children, and the elderly, uprooted from their homes, the need for action is more critical than ever.

Together with the support of Rotary Clubs from around the world, associations, and friends of Lebanon, we have been able to provide food, shelter, medical supplies, and hope to those who have lost so much. This united effort reminds us that no challenge is too great when we come together in the name of humanity.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to every club and every individual who has placed their trust in us—offering financial aid, material donations, and logistical support. Your belief in our mission is what empowers us to serve on the frontlines and deliver meaningful change to those who need it most.

This is not just about providing relief; it’s about restoring dignity, rebuilding lives, and rekindling hope. As Rotarians, we are called to be the hands and hearts that uplift those in despair. And as the Rotary Club of Beirut Cedars, we are proud to honor that call with dedication, integrity, and a deep sense of purpose.

To everyone who has stood with us during this time—thank you. Your generosity has transformed lives, and your support inspires us to push forward, even in the face of adversity. Together, we are not only helping the displaced Lebanese people; we are proving that humanity’s greatest strength lies in its ability to care, to serve, and to stand united.

Let us continue this vital work, for there is still much to do. Together, we can build a future where no one feels forgotten and where hope prevails.

With gratitude and determination,

Rodolphe Melki

President, RC Beirut Cedars
