Today around 45% of the Lebanese population lives below the poverty line. The Beirut port blast on 4 August shredded the city and left its fragile population facing civil unrest, an ongoing socio-economic crisis, and the COVID-19 pandemic.Since it started in July 2020, the Rotary Club of Beirut Cedars, “The Food Box” project has distributed more than 7,793 Food Boxes all over Lebanon. Each box contains some of the basic food groups essential for life and growth. Many of the products are local to support the Lebanese economy. The box servers a family of 4 members over a period of 25 days.

RC Beirut Cedars collaborated with many NGOs and provided them with a mobile workforce management solution called GeoPal. By using this platform RC Beirut Cedars had real-time visibility of NGOs’ field operations, creating more transparency.

RC Beirut Cedars “The Food Box” project is growing. This project welcomes support by providing financial and non-financial contributions. The efforts of Rotarians have played an important role in investing more than 160,000 USD in this project to date.
