Vahan Tekeyan School – Supply of Water Filtration, UPS and Digital Boards
Vahan Tekeyan School situated at a kilometer and a half from the scene of the blast, in Burj Hammoud is the fourth school on our list to support, the damage it faced was devastating.
Rotary Club Beirut Cedars decided to support this school by supplying their request for a new water filtration system to replace the one that Rotary already supplied years ago via the water filtration for school project and 3 White Digital boards for a total value of $11,500.
The school is in need according to the damage report conducted of $250.000 to repair the damage to welcome its students by September 2020, which is the beginning of the academic year.
On 12 October 2021, during the visit of District 2452 Governor Mr. Ashot Karapetyan to Lebanon, he joined our club President Ronald Farra, Immediate Past President Hagop Dantziguian, Past President Rima Khalaf, Honorary Secretary/Incoming President Mike Haroun, Treasurer Ramzi Abou Samah and Rotarian Zareh Abadjian, along with District Governor Elect George Azar, and Deputy District Governor David Zein and our guest Assistant Governor Maurice Saad from Rotary Club Pointe-à-Pitre, Guadeloupe visited the school and met with the school principal Mrs. Sevana Semerdjian Darakjian and visited the school classrooms.
Mrs. Sevana expressed her deepest and heartfelt gratitude for this support and generosity our club showed the school.
This school project request was presented by IPP Hagop Dantziguian during his mandate 2020-2021.
After the visit, Rotarians exchanged flags and pins between attending club representatives and the District 2452 team.
