A collaboration that started during Rotary Year 2020-2021, mandate of IPP Hagop Dantziguian; Rotary Club Pointe-à-Pitre, Guadeloupe donated USD 30.000 to Rotary Club Beirut Cedars after Beirut port explosion on 4 August 2020.
Part of this donation was used to supply food boxes and hot meals to the people who were residing the massively damaged parts of the capital, a collaboration done with BASSMA and a number of other NGOs.
The other part was added to other funds to purchase 50 oxygen generator machines that were distributed to NGOs that would supply them for free to people suffering from symptoms of COVID-19 but can have their treatment at home and does not need to be hospitalized.
This year, on 2 and 5 October 2021 both Rotary Clubs signed a twinning charter between presidents Claude Berger (Pointe-à-Pitre/D.7030) and Ronald Farra (Beirut Cedars/D.2452) in Baabdat during a dinner in the presence of ADG Maurice Saad.
This year, Rotary Pointe-à-Pitre donated USD 5.000 that was used to purchase stationery items for 200 underprivileged students who ensure their schooling the Dhour Choueir Public Secondary School.
The stationery have been delivered on Wednesday 13 October to the school, with the help of SKAFF s.a.l., who we thank for their continuous support, especially CEO and board president PP Philip Skaff.
