Dhour Shweir Public Secondary School – Delivery of stationery
Dhour Shweir Public Secondary School is the fourth school supported by Rotary Club Beirut Cedars.
This school is recognized for being a Microsoft pilot school since 2011 and adopts modern learning environment.
Be it one of the very few public schools open today to its students, and since the school is free, the difficult current economic situation facing Lebanon does not allow the supply of students with basic stationery.
Rotary Club Beirut Cedars decided to support this need presented by our member PP Philip Skaff, in collaboration with out twin Rotary Club Pointe-à-Pitre, Guadeloupe and their donation of USD. 5000; we were able to supply the school with 200 stationery sets, 45 Casio scientific calculators, 30 boxes of A4 paper, along with N95 COVID masks on 29 October 2021.
We thank SKAFF s.a.l. for offering the car to deliver the items to Dhour Shweir.
The distribution was done inside the classrooms of the school by Rotarians, RC Beirut Cedars president Ronald Farra, Incoming President and Club Secretary Mike Haroun, Past President Rima Khalaf, Young Generation Committee Chair Jean Marc Adaimy, and PR & Media Chair Jana Karam, was also present 8 members from the Rotaract Club Beirut Cedars.
Dhour Shweir Secondary Public School principal Mrs. Sabah Moujaes thanked Rotary for this much needed donation.
It is to note that this school still needs a lot of support, as they need fuel for electricity and heating, and an additional 50 Microsoft laptops for its students to allow them to follow courses from home.
