The Rotary Club Beirut Cedars, in collaboration with the Rotary Club of Harrow and the UK based charity ‘Embrace the Middle East’ inaugurated a dental care center for the Howard Karagheusian Commemorative Corporation in Anjar, Lebanon, completing the Rotary Global Grant GG2120321.

Initiated in 2018, P. Hagop Dantziguian stressed on making this project a reality in 2021. The initiative came under the umbrella of providing health services to the Lebanese population, assisting underprivileged families in dental health. Based on the direct correlation between dental health overall health, PP ADG Dr. Ramy Sarkis, followed up closely with Mr. Serop Ohanian, General Manager at Karagheusian Primary Healthcare Centre to identify the proper location and equipment needed to bring to life such a project. The Bekaa valley in Lebanon was very much in need of such a facility, where both locals and foreign refugees could benefit of the dental services offered. The equipment offered combines dental chair set, a 3D X-ray imagery unit, a sterilizing unit and consumables needed for the operations, which will be serving estimated 5’000 beneficiaries per year.

The delivery all equipment was completed on June 4th, 2021, with the visit onsite of P. Hagop Dantziguian, Project Chair Mike Haroun, PP. ADG Dr. Ramy Sarkis along Mr. Serop Ohanian and Dr. Khajag Aintablian on behalf of the center as well as the Mayor of the Municipality of Anjar, Mr. Vartkes Khoshian. For future supportive projects, were discussed the needs of Anjar.

The equipment will help over 5,000 refugees and others in need.
