Joint project with Rotary Club Baabda - Digital boards to a school in Rmeil
The Collège Immaculée Conception is situated in Rmeil, Ashrafieh, facing the port of Beirut; after the explosion of the port in August 2020, the school was almost completely destroyed and the renovations took more time than expected.
This project was first initiated by Rotary Club Baabda, in charge was President Elect Dr. Wadih Feghali, the club had decided to supply the school with 3 interactive digital boards, in order to discuss the possibility of increasing the number of donated boards, a meeting held with Rotary Club Beirut Cedars President Elect Ron Farra, who presented the project to the club.
An agreement was reached to install 10 interactive digital boards, and a preliminary visit was conducted on 27 May 2021 by both club representatives to the school, which is still under renovation.
Thanks to the donations from Rotary Clubs Milano Nord Ovest, District 2041, Italy; Manchester, District 1285, Britain and District 1010 Scotland North, the purchase of the equipment was done from “Tamer Entreprise” for a value of $11,000.
On 22 March 2022, in the presence of Rotary International Germany magazine representative journalist Ursula Meissner and from Rotary Club Beirut Cedars President Ronald Farra, Immediate Past President Hagop Dantziguian, Past President Rima Khalaf, Past President Rami Sarkis, Past President Rodolphe Melki and Past President Philippe Naasan and Past President Mario Nasard from Rotary Club Baabda performed a tour in the school to see the undergoing renovation works and checked all installed digital boards.
